Marigold

Marigold is a fantastic place to enjoy great coffee while putting in a morning’s work. Sadly you are only permitted to do so between 9am and 12pm, and only on Wednesdays, Thursdays and Fridays (they’re closed on Mondays and Tuesdays). Laptops are not permitted at weekends, so you only have a few precious mornings in the week to enjoy this excellent cafe.

Marigold serves their own specialty coffee, roasted on their behalf by Paolo Scimone at His Majesty the Coffee. It’s quite easy to agree that Marigold, at the time of writing at least, is serving the best specialty coffee in Rome.

Working at Marigold is a pleasure, on the days they’ll allow you to of course. To be clear, that is on Wednesdays, Thursdays and Fridays and from 9am to 12pm only. While the seating won’t permit long periods of work anyway, the WiFi speed and specialty coffee, and relatively low noise levels in the earlier hours more than make up for it. If you’re in the area, on the right day, at the right time, it’s worth it.
